Ernest is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Sanchez; sons, Ernest Sanchez, Jr and David Torrez; daughters, Grace Sanchez-Holt, Brooke Gibney and Diane Sanchez; brother, Author Sanchez; sisters, Sarah Morales, Cecelia Murrillo, Stella Melchor, and Ophelia Hernandez. He was predeceased in death by his brother Robert Sanchez.
