Eva was born in Edinburg, TX on January 13, 1948 to Rodolfo and Maria Ortiz. On September 19, 1968 she married the love of her life, Mateo Gonzalez. They raised three sons, Fabian, Isaac and Mateo Jr and two daughters, Raquel and Pilar.
Eva enjoyed her job at Az DES and was a shining light to all who knew her. Retirement was not even in her plans. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed watching her kids’ and grandkids’ soccer games. She loved road trips, shopping, good food, snacking and absolutely loved to dance. She was the life of the party.
Her infectious smile, generous heart and kind spirit will be sorely missed.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Rodolfo and Maria Ortiz, her siblings, Rudy, Preciliano, Eligio and Alice and her granddaughter, Erika Monik. She is survived by her husband Mateo and her children, Raquel (Robert) DeCarr, Fabian (Tammy) Gonzalez, Pilar (Eric) Fleshman, Isaac (Guadalupe) Gonzalez and Mateo (Mary Alice) Gonzalez, her brother, Johnny (Carmen) Ortiz, her sister, cousins grandchildren.
She will be truly missed by her grandchildren, Robert, Julio, Silas, Gabriella, Kelilah, Fabian Jr, Genesis, Ysabella, Aixa, Mateo Jr, Azarel, Jezebel and Ulysses and many others whom she welcomed as her own.
