Frank was born on May 26, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Frank and Ella Colegrove. Treasured Grandparents, John and Gertude Colegrove instrumented in raising Frank, along with having cherished Grandparents Mace and Mrytle Luce in his life. He has three sisters Connie VanderWagen (Deceased), Diane Burica, and Sandra Colegrove.
Frank graduated in 1948 from Coopersville High School in Coopersville, Michigan, and received his Bachelors in Teaching from Western Michigan University before going to Grand Valley University where he received his Masters degree. He was also a member of the Honors Society of Phi Kappa Phi, with honors.
Later, Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country for 8 years.
He married Betty Conrardy in 1952 and they had four children, Robin Colegrove, Connie Phillips, Greg Colegrove and Mike Colegrove-- over the years, Frank and Betty have been blessed with 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family later moved to Canoga Park, California where Frank taught and coached for 8 years. After his teaching job in California the family moved to Michigan and Frank began working in a maximum- security prison; he taught and was a counselor at the prison. He also implemented a reading program for the prisoners and worked there until he retired after 20 years.
Frank and Betty then moved to Yuma, Arizona, where he worked at the Yuma Union High School District in the Career Center for 4 years. After he left the School District, Frank was once again called to develop an educational program for the Crossroads Mission, he taught and was a counselor at the Mission where many men and woman benefited of the program and received their GED’s.
