

Immediately after high school Gilbert worked in the construction industry as a Journeyman/Carpenter for the next 20 years. Shortly after, Gilbert began his career as a heavy equipment operator for ADOT where he retired in 2012.
Gilbert loved being outdoors either camping in Picacho or Elk hunting and fishing in the White Mountains. Ultimately, Gilbert enjoyed being with his family.
His grandparents Edward and Salome Vasquez and Ramon and Clara Higuera precede him in death.
Gilbert is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Norrie Higuera; son, Joe Higuera; Daughters, Tristan Vargas (Ray), Jordan Higuera, and Jocelyn Ruiz (Austin). His pride and joy were his five grand kids that he loved with everything he had.

Services will be at St. Francis Church, Friday, June 3, 2016, Viewing, 12pm-1pm; Rosary, 1pm-2pm; Mass, 2pm-3pm.
