Herman was born in Hope, Arkansas on April 16, 1952, to Harmon and Queen Ester Burton.
The family moved from Hope to Yuma, Arizona in 1953, where he lived for 59 years.
He attended George Washington Carver and Post Elementary Schools, Fourth Avenue Junior High and
Yuma High School.
He joined the Army where he served 2 years.Upon discharge from the military,
Herman worked for the United Stated Postal Service in Yuma for 30 years.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his companion, Michelle Hunter, his father, Harmon (Wadie) Burton of Yuma, his mother, Queen Ester Burton of Yuma, his sister Katrina Hancock of Las Vegas, Nevada, his son, Rodney Burton of Mesa, Arizona, his daughters, Veronica Burton of Yuma Arizona, Mercedes (Kevin) Thompson of Abilene Texas, Annette (Steve) Jones of South Carolina and BreeAnn Burton of Yuma, Arizona, Grandchildren Rakim and Dominique Thompson of Abilene Texas, Michelle’s daughter Marian Hunter, Aunts, Uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
