John was a man who told it how it was, continued to educate himself throughout his lifetime and gave back to people and the community by helping people with all the knowledge and experience he had accumulated over his lifetime. There wasn't a project that he would turn down if he didn't think he could accomplish it. He used his unconventional ways to get the job done even if people didn't believe he could do it. He never actually retired once his family sold their business, he believed that people needed to get up and keep going. He is going to be missed for his humor, his extreme love for his family and his old ways of doing things.
