

with the Lord on February 2, 2022 in Yuma, AZ at the age of 90.
Juel came to Yuma as a toddler in 1934. He attended the Laguna School in North
Gila Valley, Crane School and Yuma High School. During those young years Juel
worked trapping gophers, picking cotton, washing dishes and delivering ice to railroad
section houses from Yuma to Spot Road along Hwy 80.
On March 16, 1947 at age 16, Juel received Christ and was baptized.
He enlisted in the Navy and reported to bootcamp on June 1, 1951 at 19 years old.
After bootcamp he was sent to Yokosuka, Japan for 27 months. He returned to the
States to finish out his military service.
In 1955 Juel took a job with Sears & Roebuck Co. where he met the love of his life,
Ida Mae Martin. They were married in 1956, 4 months after meeting. Juel and Ida
had 3 children, Richard, Marty and Judy. He retired from Sears in 1992 and
relocated to Prescott, Az. They returned to Yuma in 2012. Juel and Ida were
married for 57 years years, until Ida’s death in 2013.
Juel loved to sing, bowl, fish, ride his motorcycle and get behind the wheel and drive
anywhere. He loved playing dominos with his brother and sister. He loved Jesus and
reading his bible, his family, his church and he loved people.
Juel left a legacy that is now carried on by his family, including many nieces and
nephews, which is a foundation in the Word of God, and the promise that who so
ever believes in Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Juel was preceded in death by his wife Ida Mae Ford and sister Tommie Renard.
He is survived by his children: Richard (Teresa) Ford, Marty (Lynne) Ford, and Judy
Bails. Grandchildren: Holly (Chris) Maxwell, Ashley (Garrett) Gist, Nick (Modesta)
Ford, Rebekah (Hugo) Valdez and Steven Ford. Great Grandchildren: Lily, Harlow
and Kyren Gist, Giovanni and Ford Valdez. Brothers: Travis (Madilyn) Ford and
Michael Ford as well as many nieces and nephews.
