On November 10, 1961, the Marine Corps birthday, she was the first born to Thomas and Rilda Hayes. As the oldest of five children, she was raised in a loving and deeply rooted Irish Catholic family that shaped the warmth and strength she carried throughout her life.
Kathleen was one of the most caring people on this earth. She spent her life thinking of others before herself, offering a gentle word, a helping hand, or a warm smile to anyone who needed it. She would never say goodbye without giving you a hug and saying I love you as least 3 more times.
Her compassion extended to all living creatures, as she cared for them with the same tenderness she gave to everyone she loved.
Above all, Kathleen cherished being “Grammy.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she embraced every moment she had with them, laughing, snuggling, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hayes. She leaves behind her mother, Rilda Hayes, and her four siblings: Patrick, Thomas, Maureen (Figueroa), and Timothy Hayes. She is also survived by her beloved nephews and their families, Ramon Figueroa, David Figueroa, Alyssa, Ezra, Patrick and Casey Hayes. Her favorite Aunt Vivian (Vicki) and her many cousins. She leaves her daughter, Aimee Gillard, and son-in-law Joey, as well as her two beautiful grandsons, Thorin and Denver, who brought her endless joy.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing she is now resting in God’s loving arms, surrounded by peace, perhaps watching over us from a place as beautiful as the ocean she loved so dearly.
