

Larry was born in Yuma, AZ to Humberto and Eliza Bracamonte. A lifelong resident of Yuma, AZ, he attended Carver Elementary School, 4th Avenue Junior High School and Yuma High School (Go Criminals!) and higher education at the University of Arizona (Wild Cats!!!!!!) and the Royal Military College of Science, Cranfield University (United Kingdom).
Until his passing, Mr. Larry Bracamonte served as the Technical Director of the Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). Prior to selection to this position, he served in various YPG engineering and technical management positions, including Test Project Engineer, Test Team Leader, Chief of the Munitions Branch, Chief of Mortars and Mines Branch, Chief of the Munitions and Weapons Division, and Director of Ground Combat Systems of the Yuma Test Center, and Associate Director of Test Management (G-9) at ATEC Headquarters. In these roles, he worked on and led developmental, production, stockpile reliability, and product improvement testing of a diverse variety of armament and combat support systems, including the majority of artillery, mortar, mine, direct fire, and vehicle systems fielded to the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Bracamonte held a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Science degree in weapon and vehicle systems from the Royal Military College of Science, Cranfield University (United Kingdom).
Mr. Bracamonte was a member of the Acquisition Corps and held Level III Certification in Test and Evaluation. His awards included the Superior Civilian Service Award, National Association of Hispanic Federal Executives Civilian Meritorious Award, and the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service (3). He was inducted into the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara by the U.S. Field Artillery Association for his contributions to Army and Marine Corps artillery.

Larry is preceded by his beloved, deceased father Humberto and mother Eliza Bracamonte. He is survived by his loving spouse and life partner of 34 years Matilda Lugo; he was a beloved brother to Marcelino & Sandra (deceased) Gonzalez; Jose (deceased) and Sonia Galvan; Jose F. (deceased) & Stella Lugo; Cesar & Raquel Lugo; Raul Lugo & Lawrence Myers; Ramiro (“Ray”) & Miriam Lugo; Joshua & Ruth (“Chimo”) Megui and Gina Lugo; a celebrated Uncle (Tio) and Nino to Ruben C. Gonzalez; Sandra L. Gonzalez; Jocabed P. Martinez; Jose (“Chico”) L. Galvan; Saul Z. Galvan; Felix Lugo; Cesar Lugo Jr.; Ginamarie Jones; Joshua (Junior) R. Lugo; Raul Lugo III, Elizabeth M. Johnson; Ruth R. Megui; John M. Houghton, Monica Corona Fonseca, Veronica Floriano, Isabella Cabrera and a host of cousins (primos y primas), great nieces, nephews (sobrinas y sobrinos), family (familia) and friends (amigos).
The funeral service and interment is open to family and invited guests.
