

Born June 11, 1940, to Loral and Ethel Campbell of Merrill, Wisconsin, he spent his first 16 years living the life of a farmer. He spent his days driving tractor, tending to the animals, attending school, and tending to various tasks needed for upkeep of the family home. In 1956, the family of seven relocated to Washington State for an employment opportunity for Loral in the lumber industry. Upon high school graduation, Leon followed in his father's footsteps by accepting employment at the sawmill. During his 50 years in the lumber industry, he worked at various lumber mills and held positions of foreman and millwright. At age 21, Leon married Judy, and together they had 3 children over the 29 years of marriage. Upon retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, coffee with his friends at Kuhnle's, building utility trailers, attending music concerts, faithfully watching the Gaither's on Saturday afternoon, and driving to Idaho to visit his close friends, Brock and Laura.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and his eldest son, Stephen. He is survived by his daughter Tammy Haubrich, son Dan Campbell, bonus children Stacy and Mike, ten grandchildren Peter, Alex, Michelle, Rachel, Jacob, Josiah, Ben, Caleb, Andrew, Jenna, and 4 great grandchildren Seth, Brielle, Colton, and Koda.
