

Linda was born on October 26, 1959 at the Ft. Yuma Indian Hospital, Winterhaven, CA. She was raised on the Lots 5 & 6 Cocopah Indian Reservation, Yuma County. She then moved to the East for a short period and then made the West Cocopah her final residence. On numerous occasions she was asked to represent the First Elected Cocopah Chairwoman. She made the cover of the Que Pasa back in the Mid 70's. She was so proud to do this for her people.
Linda will be remembered by her children. Sons: Donald Twist, Jr., Lawrence Twist, Robert Thomas Jr., Lynden Willard. Daughters: Rhea Thomas, Roberta Thomas, and Reba Anderson.
Linda also is survived by her brothers and sisters: John C. Stevens III., Mr. & Mrs. Eric W. Jim Sr. (Sheila), Mr. & Mrs. Lyle Daychild (Geraldine), Mr. & Mrs. Louis Soto (Donna), Velda (Darryl) Miller, Uncle: Tommy Hart-Thomas and her Last Surviving Aunt Irene Sharkey.
Linda also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews; her very special and favorite niece was Deidre Twist. Deidre spent time with her aunt Linda at YRMC in her final days.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John C. Stevens, Jr. and Priscilla L. (Hart) Jim, Grandfather John C. Stevens Sr., Son, Teran G. Twist, Sr. Grandson Demetrius Twist Brothers: Pedro D. Jim.
The main concerns for Linda were the health and care of all her grandchildren, she loved them to the fullest and would always be there for them. Linda would convey with those that she came into contact with. Her job as a School Bus Driver was her love. She enjoyed those she transported to and from school. She also was an Assistant back in her younger days to the Vice-Chairman; she would type and answer calls.
Her education started with her going to Elementary at Crane School and then moved to the West Cocopah and started school at Somerton. She graduated from O.L. Carlisle School in 1974. She then attended Kofa High School. She was very active in the Air Force- ROTC. She worked at the football games as a guard at the gate. Linda received her G.E.D./Clerical Training from S.E.R- Jobs For Progress-Yuma, AZ. She also attended Arizona Western College for a time in the Business Administration Classes. She then became a Certified Bus Driver and loved it.
Linda was divorced and spent her time with her family. Far and near - she would call those that did not live here and would converse for hours. She is very missed by all those she knew.
