

Surrounded by her family, Margie Jeane Eddy went to be with her savior in heaven on May 9, 2016. Born February 5, 1936 in Bay City, TX Margie moved to Somerton as an infant with her parents, Losson and Ruby Gardner.
She attended Yuma High School and soon after met Richard Eddy. Margie and Richard married May 1, 1953 and recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Early in their marriage, Margie poured her heart into raising her children and supporting Richard's Air Force career. Later, She and Richard owned and operated the Tip Top Drive-In on 4th Ave and 2nd Street from 1960-1965. As her children got older, Margie returned to school to become a nurse and graduated at the top of her class. She worked in Labor and Delivery at Yuma Regional Medical Center as a LPN until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Immanuel Southern Baptist Church and very active in the Children's Ministry, Vacation Bible School and outreach to the ill and home-bound. Margie made a life of serving others and anyone in need of a warm delicious meal or a warm hug and listening ear knew they could count on her.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Daughter Rhonda Eddy and Granddaughter Dana Crosby-Hunt. She is survived by her loving husband, children Rick (Susan) Eddy, Denise (Stephen) Wegner and Tim Eddy; Brother Leon Gardner of Laverne, CA; Sister Helen Cypert; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, 4-7pm and funeral services Friday, May 13, 1pm at Johnson's Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Hospice Compassus.
Arrangements under the direction of Johnson Mortuary & Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Yuma, AZ.
