She is survived by her parents, Juan and Alma Velasquez. Siblings Patty(Joe) Badilla, Juan(Lucy) Velasquez. Nieces Erika, Andrea & Brianna, and nephews Joseph, Juan & Eric. Great nieces Alyssa, Leah, Aubrie & Lainey and great nephews Jerry and Justin and her beloved dog, Ollie. She is preceded in death by her sister Lorena Velasquez.
Since she was a child she had a strong passion for soccer. She was on numerous competitive traveling teams winning multiple championships. She attended Xavier Preparatory high school, where she and her teammates won the state title 3 years in a row. She later attended the University of San Diego on a
full ride scholarship for her athletic ability & incredible academics, where she maintained a place on the Dean's list. Thereafter, she obtained a Masters degree in Accounting, from the University of Phoenix.
She dedicated her time to helping others, whether it be family or friends, she always wanted to make sure everyone felt loved and supported. When she wasn't spending time with her family or working, Momo was coaching soccer and advocating for her players. She coached for multiple teams, where she made numerous connections with her players and their families. It was easy to love Momo and she loved everyone back. Marisela took great pride in her career. She recently was promoted from her position at Republic Services, which she was extremely proud of and could not wait to start. In her free time, she enjoyed paddle boarding, scooter riding, skydiving, watching TV marathons, going to the movies, and spending time with her family and friends. Her nieces and nephews were a huge part of her life and you could always find her with one of her "munchkins". Marisela had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh that will not be forgotten. Anyone who knows her describes her as loyal, caring, confident, courageous, and life-changing. She was a role model and a friend to all. She will be greatly missed.
