Melba Sainz "Nani" happily celebrated her 93rd birthday on December 11, surrounded by family, friends and the children who loved her so. Her greatest joy in life was loving and caring for all the children who came into her home, her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and anything constructive she could do with her hands. She passed peacefully on Dec. 20th at home with her daughter & son-in-law Elaine & Kent Patrick, her granddaughter, Irene "Renee" Patrick, and her son-in-law Mike Neketin, all of Yuma. "Nani" is also survived by her grandsons: Ryan Neketin, Christopher Neketin, Ray Sainz, Chad Sainz, Peter Sainz, Luke Sainz, great grandchildren, all of Yuma, and sisters Violet Butner of Tennessee, Yolanda Faz, Elsa Mendez, Olivia Palma, her brothers Gilbert Faz and Sergio Faz, all of Arizona.
"Nani" was preceeded in death by her husband, F. Ray Sainz, her sons Stanley B. Sainz and Ray J. Sainz, her daughter Elda B. Sainz-Neketin, and grandson Stanley B. Sainz Jr.
There will be a celebration of life at Johnson's Chapel from 5-7 pm on Jan. 03, with Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 am on Wed., Jan 04 followed by graveside services.
