Michael A. Brandt, 68, of Yuma, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully in his sleep on the morning of February 11, 2026, at home, with his beloved wife, Rosa, by his side. Though his passing was sudden, it was gentle, and he departed this life in the quiet comfort of the place he cherished most.
Michael was a man who found deep joy in the outdoors and even greater joy in sharing it with those he loved. Hunting was not merely a pastime; it was a treasured tradition. Each year, he assumed the role of master planner for the annual hunting trips, carefully organizing every detail with characteristic precision and enthusiasm. From charting the course of the expedition to thoughtfully planning the menus and ensuring that everyone was properly outfitted, Michael took pride in creating experiences that would become lifelong memories. The gatherings, shared with his son, brothers, and close friends, were among the highlights of his year. Under his steady guidance, every trip unfolded seamlessly. Around the glow of the evening campfires, he was in his element, swapping stories, sharing laughter, and strengthening the bonds of fellowship that meant so much to him.
His love for the outdoors extended well beyond the hunt. Michael was also an avid fisherman, happiest when casting a line into still waters at dawn or drifting along a quiet shoreline. In retirement, he embraced this passion with even greater devotion, spending as much time as possible on the waterways he so dearly loved. Those peaceful hours brought him both contentment and reflection.
Before retiring, Michael dedicated 35 years to Gowan, where he built a respected and meaningful career. He found genuine fulfillment in his work and was widely known as a fair, principled, and honest manager. Colleagues admired his steady leadership and integrity, and when he retired, his absence was deeply felt. His role and his example were not easily replaced.
Michael will be remembered for his steadfast character, his generosity of spirit, and the warmth he brought to every gathering. He lived with purpose, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of cherished traditions, enduring friendships, and a family strengthened by his unwavering presence.
