

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Rosario (Chayito) Sandoval on March 25, 2026. She was born in Mexico, and lived a life in Yuma, Arizona defined by compassion, strength, and deep love for her family.
She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and a welcoming spirit. Music was her passion—it brought her comfort and joy, and she often spent her time enjoying it. She also enjoyed keeping active and spending time tending to her garden.
Chayito’s kindness and vibrant spirit were evident to everyone who knew her. She had a way of making others feel cared for and valued, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Sandoval, whom she married in 1951, her son, Ricardo Sandoval, and her grandsons Jason and Frankie Sandoval. She is survived by her children Lee and Sandy Sandoval, Ernie and Tootie Sandoval, Glenda Currier, Marybel and Tom Salviejo, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who will continue to cherish her memory.
Chayito touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, generosity, and loving spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will live on in all of us.
Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Francis April 9th at 11 a.m. Burial services at Desert Lawn Cemetery at 1 p.m.
