She is survived by two siblings: Sharon Gruener (Ray) of Eugene, Oregon and John Snyder of Phoenix, Arizona. Sharon has two children, Michael Copeland of Moses Lake, Washington and Lora Perry of Junction City, Oregon. Michael has a son, Jace Copeland.
Velma attended Somerton Grammar School and graduated from KofA High School in Yuma, Arizona. She and her family attended the Church of the Nazarene in Somerton. Her father, Albert, helped build the current church. Velma was a homemaker for herself, Ed and the puppies as her health permitted.
Velma was home with her husband, Ed Jorgensen and their two fur babies, Chloe and Shea, when she passed. Velma had Parkinson's disease and other health issues. Her husband, Ed, lovingly helped care for Velma for many years. Before retiring, Ed was an Investigator for the State of Arizona and worked 25 years for the U.S. Forest Service. He also served in the US Navy. Ed has two daughters: Kathy Krause (Kin) of Bakersfield, California and Donna Simpson (Dave) of Los Angeles, California.
Velma was blessed to be born and live in the Yuma area for all her life and be able to live by her grandparents; Velma & Cecil Stone and Anna & John Snyder.
Velma enjoyed visiting with family and friends, "lunch with the girls." She liked to play Skip-Bo and loved her tacos from El Charro and Chili Pepper. She had a sassy personality that we all loved and will miss greatly.
The family thanks you for your continued prayer. We that love Jesus will have a blessed reunion with Velma and others that have passed on before us someday soon.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below the Jorgensen family.
