
Vera Brown passed away on June 7, 2011 at her home in Yuma, Arizona. She was born in Tempe, Arizona on June 8, 1921, and moved to Parker, Arizona as an infant. She lived in Parker until 1959 when she and her husband, Harvey, and son, Harold, moved to Yuma.
Vera worked as a baker and cafeteria manager for Yuma School District One for 23 years. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and a caring and loving sister, aunt and friend.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; son, Harold; parents, Gregorio and Refugio Burgoz; brothers, Greg Jr., Albert, Adolph, and Raymond; sisters, Carmen Campas, Viola Alcaida, Delores Martinez, Eva Echandi, and Alice Varnold.
Vera is survived by her brothers, Louie and Rudy; sisters, Virginia Alcaida, Lupe Hoeft and Joyce Alcaida and many nieces and nephews.
A wake will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel, 795 W. 28th St., with a rosary scheduled at 7 p.m. A funeral service is scheduled Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel with burial to follow.
