

"WJ" as he was fondly call by his friends, was born February 13, 1929 in Camp Springs, Texas to Samuel and Wanda Andress.
In 1937 WJ 's family relocated to AZ. His parents bought the Bard store were he "worked" and played, making many lifelong friends. After graduating from Yuma High School in 1948 WJ stared his 41 year career with the State of California as an Agriculture Inspector in Winterhaven, CA. He later worked in other parts of California as an inspector before returning to Yuma, which he always called home.
In June of 1949 WJ married his high school sweetheart Jacqueline ( Jackie ) Ridenour and enjoyed 53 years of marriage until her death in 2002. WJ and Jackie raised three sons Clyde (Kathy) Sidney (Nancy) and Bruce (Dianna).
WJ is survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
All who knew WJ would say he was a gracious and loving man that loved his family and friends and touched the hearts of many.
There will be a visitation on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. with funeral Services Saturday February 3rd at 1:00 pm at Johnson Funeral Home, 1415 S. 1st Ave.
As a life time member of Elks, Lodge 476 the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Elks Foundation in Walter's name.
