

He enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1964 and served honorably until his retirement in January 1991, completing over 27 years of dedicated service. As a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, he provided direct medical support to Navy and Marine Corps forces ashore and afloat, including combat service in the Republic of Vietnam.
Throughout his career, Master Chief Clothier exemplified exceptional professionalism, sound judgment, and unwavering devotion to duty, contributing materially to mission accomplishment and to the welfare of the Sailors and Marines under his care. He retired at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, California.
Following his retirement from active service, he continued his lifelong commitment to public service as Administrator of Yuma County’s AHCCCS program for Indigent Health Care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. Clothier I and Margaret Clothier, and Nenah Moeller; his brothers, William J. Clothier II and Glenn Clothier; his sons, Robert Sheahan and William McCord; and his granddaughter, Marissa Clothier.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Carmela Clothier; his children, Stephan Sheahan (Terri), Patrick Sheahan (Mindy), Suzan Bunton (Bob), and William “Billy” Clothier, Jr. (Deena); his brothers, Jack, Jerry, and Delbert; his sisters, Becky, and Susan; and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
