It is with extreme sadness that we share the death of William Newton Stricklin (Newt) who died on March 21st, 2024, at his family ranch in Kent County, Texas. Newt was born on April 8,1955 in Globe, Arizona to Wayne and Pat Stricklin.
Newt is survived by the love of his life, Robyn who he was married to for 39 years. He leaves behind two daughters, Patti (John) and Velvet and three grandchildren, Jackson, Camile Grace (Aidan) and Trent (Aubrey). He is also survived by two sisters Lee Timboe (Rick), Teresa Kleiner (Norbert), and two brothers, John and Bob (Tammy).
He was preceded in death by his Mother Pat Stricklin (January 8, 1997), Father Wayne H Stricklin (October 26, 2023), and his beloved brother Timothy Wayne Stricklin (May 10, 2017).
He retired from the Adult Probation Office in 2015 where he was instrumental in implementing both the Work Release Program and the Electronic Monitoring Program.
Newt and Robyn enjoyed traveling and enjoyed 22 ocean cruises. They also visited all 50 states and went to all the continents except Australia. Newt was a history buff, a whiz at trivia and enjoyed playing cards and dominos. Newt had a heart of gold and loved having his family around him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 19th at 5 pm at Johnson’s Mortuary 1415 S. 1st Avenue. A get-together will be held afterward at the Disabled American Veteran's Hall located at 954 S.13th Avenue, Yuma Arizona.
