Jack leaves behind his beloved identical twin brother, Larry, cousins Faye Cugno from Holbrook, MA and Shirley Nicholson from Pembroke, MA, as well as 3 cousins in London and 1 in Toronto.
Jack was proud to have served in the Air Force. He also was a graduate of Northeastern University, where his love for sport writing was influenced. He loved traveling, and in February 1998, Jack went to the winter Olympics in Japan. He especially enjoyed the ice-skating events and was enamored by Michelle Kwan. He so enjoyed his travels to Japan and the culture. Jack had also traveled cross-country as well.
Jack had many interests including visiting museums; his favorite being the Essex Peabody Museum in Salem and the MFA in Boston. Jack enjoyed going to the theater in Boston; his favorite musical being CATS starring the British songstress Elaine Paige. His favorite song by Elaine was “Running back for more.”
His love of music was further embellished by his most recent introduction to Alexa, which his dear friend Christine introduced him to. When speaking with Jack on the phone, you could hear the music in the background, and he wanted to share it with you – sometimes making it difficult to end the phone call.
Jack was also a die-hard fan of college football, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide team. He also loved the March madness basketball.
Jack loved animals as well. He even had a photo of the Georgia Bulldog’s mascot, Uga hanging on his wall. His friend Maiann had given Jack a stuffed bear which was very special to him along with a framed koala bear poster that he was very fond of. In fact, he had clung onto the stuffed bear in his last hours.
Jack was well liked and was a kind, respectful and caring individual. He was also very generous, sometimes to a fault. He loved to talk sports, and his good heartedness was always evident. Everyone who came in contact with Jack adored him.
Jack was a very hard worker and never wanted to put anyone out.
He will be missed. We will love him forever! We are forever grateful to Christine Forsgard, Maiann Good, Elizabeth White, The Alliance Staff, and Old Colony Hospice for all their compassion.
A graveside service will be held at noon at Chevra Kadusha of Boston Cemetary, 19 Washington Street, Woburn, MA.
