Claudine (Hasko) Snyder, 92, passed away on June 4, 2021. She was born in Bristol, CT, on October 15, 1928. Her parents, the late William and Helen (Popko) Hasko, raised Claudine and her three siblings in Terryville, CT. She graduated from Terryville High School and worked locally, developing skills as an office assistant.
In the early-1960’s, Claudine moved to Los Angeles with her cousin, Joan, settling in the San Fernando Valley. Not long after moving to California, Claudine met and married Leon Snyder, a mechanical engineer working in the aerospace industry. They had two daughters, Carol and Laura. Claudine stayed at home to raise them during their elementary school years. She eventually went back to work in secretarial positions at Rocketdyne and Hughes Aircraft.
Claudine’s true passions have always been her family and her church. Born and raised as an Orthodox Christian, Claudine found a home at St. Innocent Orthodox Church in Tarzana, CA where she was a member of the choir and sisterhood, and was eager to volunteer whenever help was needed. Her supportive nature was especially evident with her children and grandchildren, whom she cared for with all her heart. Claudine had a great sense of humor and would make people laugh with her clever responses.
Claudine is survived by her daughters, Carol Stoddard of Hawthorne, NJ; Laura Wade and her husband Matthew of Simi Valley; grandchildren Katharine, Megan, and Andrew Stoddard, and Madison and Jessica Wade. She was predeceased by her sisters, Lillian and Ellen, and her brother, Harold.
A funeral service will be held at St. Innocent Orthodox Church in Tarzana, CA at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 19, followed by a graveside service and burial.
