Martha Waddell Kelley, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2021. Mrs. Kelley graduated from Treadwell High School in 1942, she continued throughout her life to study and teach God’s word. One of her greatest passions was teaching Sunday school. She retired from Kimberly Clark and in her spare time was a talented seamstress and wonderful cook. She was a loving wife, mother and grand-mother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Kelley, Sr.; son, Clarence Kelley, Jr. (Bubba); parents, Joseph and Velma Waddell; sisters, Ruth, Hazel and Gwen, and brothers, Raymond, Luther, Erskin, Adolphus, and Joe.
She is survived by sons, David Kelley and John Kelley (Valerie); five grandchildren, Eric Kelley (Michelle), Cindy Mynatt (Mark), Amy Pettit (Ken), Michael Kelley, Sarah Kelley de Marrero (Josué); and seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Mynatt, Natalie Mynatt, Daniel Kelley, Grayson Kelley, Erin Pettit, Morgan Pettit, and Milán Marrero Kelley.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 13 from 1-2 p.m. at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38122. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133.
