She didn’t just hope that one day someone would say that about her. She lived so as to leave you no doubt about it. Her whole life was filled with what she loved.
After God and family, she had plenty of life in her for more. Quilting she could have won prizes for. Singing alto in the church choir — and in a gospel quartet. Especially wonderful for her, she loved watching her sons have families of their own.
She is preceded in death by her father Simon and mother Martha, as well as her step-father George and brother John. Janice is survived by her husband George, and their three sons, Ken, Eric, and Jonathan, as well as her sisters, Sally, Susan, and Becky.
Thank you for mourning and celebrating Janice with us.
In lieu of flowers, Janice requested that donations be made to two faith-based ministries very dear to her, in different seasons of her life:
Trans World Radio, for more than 65 years, has used broadcast media to share the Good News with many of the hardest-to-reach people and communities around the globe. Janice’s older brother ‘Johnny’ served with TWR at its radio station on Bonaire, a small island just off the Venezuela coast, during the early 70s.
Wycliffe Bible Translators, for more than 75 years, has helped thousands of marginalized language communities around the world translate the written Scriptures into their own languages. Janice’s son Ken joined Wycliffe in 2014, and actively serves as Communications Coordinator for over twenty Bible translation project teams across Tanzania.
