Avard McLeod passed away peacefully on August 30th,2021 just two days prior to his 94th birthday.
“Mac”, as he was known to family and friends, was born on September 1st, 1927 to Helena (Curry) and Alexander McLeod in Montreal, Quebec. After graduating from Westhill High School in 1944 he went on to work at Shawinigan Chemicals. He worked in various departments and finished his career in international distribution and marketing in 1984 after 39 years. After retiring “Mac” enjoyed traveling as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He was an innovative handyman who always had a little project on the go.
He met the love of his life Joyce (Vasey) in 1954 and they wed in 1956. Together they built a loving home that included their two daughters Sheri (David Nahon) and Laurie (Paul Dranfield).
“Mac” is survived by his wife and daughters as well as his grand-sons Jeremy (Sarah Hadjou) and Andrew as well as his grand-daughter Kaylie and his great-grand-daughter Ariana. He will be forever remembered for his compassion and his sense of fun.
The visitation will take place on September 2nd, 2021 at Collins Clarke Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. A private funeral will be held on September 3rd, 2021.
