Jessie Wingard Cooper went to be with the Lord October 10, 2021. She was born December 19, 1921 in Deatsville, Alabama. Graveside Services will be at 10:00am on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Claude McRoberts officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Family will meet at Leak Memory Chapel to process to the graveside.
Mrs. Cooper was a lifelong resident of Montgomery and was an active member of Normandale Baptist Church for thirty years followed by her membership at Ridgecrest Baptist where she was a member of the Grace Sunday School class. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi International sorority. She loved to play bridge and to travel. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grands and great grands. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Loving survivors include her daughter, Glenda Cooper Nunn and son, W. Earl (Mandy) Cooper of Brewton; five grandchildren, Cindy Nunn Price, Loraine Nunn (Brandon) Sexton, Madelyn Cooper (Allen) Cave of Brewton, Meredith Cooper (Kirk) Johnson of Selma, Rhett Horton (Amy) Cooper of Greensboro; thirteen great grandchildren, William York, Catherine Price, Garrett and Abigail Cave, Seth, Kalib and David Sexton, Claire, Patrick and Mary Ellis Johnson and Reid, Margaret and Coleman Cooper; as well as two sisters in law, Elizabeth Buckner of Marietta, GA and Mary Ann Wingard of Millbrook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Elmore & Clara Martin Wingard; her son in law, William Pou Nunn III; three brothers, Ben, Freeman, and Jim Wingard; five sisters, Beulah Thomas, Sula Thornton, Martha Porter, Janie Garner, and Zelma Weldon.
