Funeral Service for Sarah “Granny” Thomason, 98, of Jacksonville will be held at 2pm on Monday, January 6th, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Williams with the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the church on Monday. Mrs. Thomason passed away at her home on Friday.
She is survived by her three daughters, Lola Jean Green, Frances Higginbotham (Lonnie) and Becky Barnes (Fred); sons Charles Wayne Thomason and Kenneth Lynn Thomason (Linda); daughter-in-law Jannie Thomason; sister-in-law Libby Nance (Vernon); sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earnest Thomason; son James Leon Thomason; grand-daughter Andrea Cavender; and son-in-law Buford Green.
Pallbearers will be Kevon Green, Tyron Green, Noah Cleveland, Pat Thomason, Blake Shew, Tommy Clontz, Shane Thomason, and Riley Green.
Mrs. Thomason was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church of Williams and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved all sports including fishing, golfing, and softball. She also enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and loved to quilt. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed. Thanks to her caregivers Kathy and Lisa, also her special caregiver Kenny Thomason.
