Mr. Yandell was a graduate of Trent High School in 1954 and later attended Ft. Worth Christian College.
He led singing at both Poly Church of Christ and Keller Church of Christ. He and his wife were house parents at Christ’s Haven Children’s Home for eleven years. He was a member of The Hills Church of Christ (formally Richland Hills Church of Christ) where he served twenty-eight and a half years in the position of maintenance and custodial care and assisted hundreds of families with their weddings.
Jesse loved playing Canasta (cards) and Forty-Two (dominos). He also enjoyed cheering on his chosen sports teams. He loved working in his yard tending God’s creation.
Every day, he would spend time reading and studying God’s Word and he was a prayer warrior. Jesse felt his greatest accomplishment was the day he chose to follow Jesus and was baptized.
Jesse is survived by his daughter, Kim Collette, his son, Barry Yandell; grandchildren, Mallory Motley and husband, Chris, Mariah Collette, Ethan Collette; sister, Cora Mulanax and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Volena Davis Yandell; his father Thomas Franklin Yandell; his mother, Bertha Brewer Yandell; brothers, Roy, Harold, Alton, Thomas, Benton and Clinton; sisters, Audrey and Frances and a son-in-law, Burt Collette.
A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at The Hills Church of Christ, 6300 NE Loop 820, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180.
