John was proud to be born and raised in Ironbound, Newark NJ within a close-knit circle of family and friends who would bring special memories thoughout his lifetime.
He was blessed with the ability to share his gift of sharp wit and/or his compassion with ease, making him a valued and loved person with whom to spend time.
John embraced several career paths, most memorably as a Machinist at Wallace & Tiernan in Belleville NJ, a Programmer at Chubb & Sons in Warren NJ, and most recently as an Analyst with Crum & Forster in Morristown NJ.
John also enjoyed turning his passion for photogarphy into a small business.
Most of all John loved spending leisure time with family and friends, tending to his garden and pool, and vacationing on Cape Cod.
John was predeceased by his father, John S. Mikolajczyk and his sister, Helen (Mikolajczyk) Oertel.
He is survived by his wife and best friend Donna (Hartman), his daughters who brought him tremendous pride and joy, Patricia and Kathryn, and his mother, Alice Mikolajczyk (Pietrykowski).
He is also survived by his brother Edward Mikolajczyk of Linden, NJ, his Sister in Law and Partner in Crime, Kathleen Hartman, his Brother in Law Brian Hartman (wife Aynn), his niece Emily Arcangelo, nephews Michael and Andrew Arcangelo, and Dylan and Benjamin Hartman. John is also survived by his fellow inhabitants of Filbert Island.
John was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Union, NJ.
In liew of flowers, John requested donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
Funeral and burial arrangements are private; a memorial celebration for John will be held at a later date.
