**********************************************************************************************
Janet (Fuller) grew up in Sycamore, IL, and graduated from Sycamore High School in 1964. She married Leonard Isham on January 22, 1966 and sent him off to Vietnam. She worked for the National Bank & Trust uptown Sycamore for years until her first grandchild was born in 1994 and we packed up her house and moved her to Florida. In Port Salerno, Florida, she worked for Suntrust bank and later for her friend Jeannette Perkins and her family business. Most of that time, she also worked at Winn Dixie a couple days a week. In January 2005, she had a stroke. She re-learned how to do everything with only half of her body and brain. For 15 + years she ran circles around most of us in her wheelchair.
She is survived by her brother, Don Fuller, of Florissant, Mo. And sister, Linda Ball, of DeKalb, IL. Janet Isham left behind a large family filled with love. Her legacy includes 3 children, Bonnie Isham Willis (Hobe Sound, FL) Glen Isham (Tequesta, FL), and Michael Isham (Tequesta, FL) 6 grandchildren: Amanda Willis, Samantha Isham Fleming, Jacob Isham, Edward, David, and Victoria Isham. And great grandchildren: Kenleigh Fleming, Brooklyn Yeary, Kylie & Christopher Powell. And all those included in her extended family.
But some of us know the rest of the story. Janet Louise Fuller Isham was known by different names. When we were young, everyone called her Aunt Janet. That was not only what her nieces and nephews called her, but also most of the kids in the neighborhood, all the kids she babysat for, children of her friends, and all of our friends, growing up over the years. More recently that same affection and respect was granted to her from everyone who called her Grandma Janet.
Janet loved her little collectibles. She collected salt and pepper shakers, beanie babies, bobble heads, baseball and other sports memorabilia, quarters, and more I'm sure. What she collected when we were kids are now the toys that our kids and grandkids play with when they come to Grandma's house. The most memorable of course are her trolls. She has trolls for every holiday and a few extra just for being cute. She has a bingo troll of course, and if she was not having good luck at a bingo night, she would turn the troll around as if he didn't deserve to face her.
She loved all games: bingo and poker, pinnacle, board games, dominoes, all sports but especially Cardinal's baseball. She was happy to join the fun or root us on. She rarely missed a game, function, or ceremony. She could grow and heal any plant that came under her care. She snorted when she laughed. She baked the best cookies. She appreciated life. And lived it to the fullest with her ever growing family. She was the most genuine, loving, good natured person you might ever meet.
She was also the strongest person I know. She suffered some heavy losses over the years and she just picked up the pieces and recreated herself and her life after devastating changes. She reinvented herself repeatedly with a smile on her face and love in her heart. No matter how bad her situation may have been, she always had time and love for others.
