She truly had an international education as her father’s work required the family to live in many countries around the world. She was able to come back to the USA in 1946 to graduate from high school in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Vera Jean and her husband Ed spent a lifetime in education at the high school and college level. Vera Jean and Ed married on May 18, 1947. ( 64 years) They resided in Bonner Springs, KS, Lindsborg, KS, Salina, KS, Raymore, MO and WaKeeney, KS.
Her parents and her husband Edwin A. Gorsky preceded her in death.
Vera Jean is survived by a brother Donald (Esther) Spradling of Wamego, KS, a son, Dale ( Cherlyn) Gorsky of Fort Collins, CO, three grandchildren Shana (Scott) Williams of Highlands Ranch, CO, Cara (Paul) Chafetz of Colorado Springs, CO and Brandon J. (Sophia) Gorsky of Timnath, CO, and six great-grandchildren Blake and Asher Chafetz, Everett Williams, Daphne, Henry, and Colette Gorsky and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment was Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the WaKeeney City Cemetery in WaKeeney KS.
