Visitation will be held at 12:00pm – 5:00pm on November 5 at Room F at Oak Hill Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Chapel of the Oaks at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Final viewing will be held at 12:30pm – 1:30pm on November 6 at Chapel of the Oaks, and the funeral service follows at 1:30pm. Pastor Colin Ford of Alum Rock Christian Church will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 3:00pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Shirley was born in San Pablo City, Philippines on January 25, 1946. She graduated from San Pablo Colleges High School as valedictorian and became a recipient of the American Field Service International Scholarship Program and was sent to Richland, Washington. Shirley continued on to earn her B.A. in Political Science from Far Eastern University in Manila.
Shirley was married to Perry Ibay, another AFS exchange student who was sent to Faribault, MN. Shirley and Perry married on Jul 4, 1970 and were married 50 wonderful years.
Shirley worked as an executive assistant for San Jose International Airport for 22 years. She enjoyed traveling the world, taking cruises, cooking, and organizing parties for family and friends. She was also actively involved in church planting objectives, praying for and supporting Lord of Glory Community Church in Laguna, Philippines and River of God Church in Maryland, USA.
Shirley is survived by her husband Perry; two children and their spouses, Michael and Grace Ibay, Ryschelle and Robert King; five grandchildren; seven siblings and their spouses, Medelyn and Gil Jaurigue (deceased), Judith and Samuel Quema, Maribel and Joel Alvero, Rouben II and Lorna Belulia, Rouben III and Marites Belulia, Liza Ann and Jun Pineda, and Jean and Joselito Cruz; nephews and nieces, and other family and friends.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Rouben Sr. and Medy Belulia.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Perry N. Ibay c/o Oak Hill Funeral Home.
