After a successful career as a civil engineer in New York City, Robert retired with his wife Helen D. Crupi to their beloved Chatham, Massachusetts. It was in Chatham where Robert and Helen began another successful career as partners in Landmark Restoration and Construction Corporation. Known for their passion and talent for designing and building homes, Robert and Helen were well-respected among their peers in the industry. In their down time, they enjoyed their time together at their home in Quechee, Vermont. Helen pre-deceased Robert in June 2013.
Robert is survived by his children Robert (Betsy), Mary Ellen Smith (Donald) Anthony, David (Susan), and Christine (Brad). He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher, Ryan, Jennings, Robert, Alexander, Samantha and Tyler. Robert is also survived by his great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, his sister, Agnes Carroll, and his former wife, Irene Romano.
Robert will be missed by his dear friend Susie Haskell and her family, and his dear friend, Pamela DeYoung, and his close friends of Ridge Cove Lane.
Visiting hours are 11am-1pm on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham, MA. Burial to follow calling hours.
