Neil Alexander MacKinnon was born on September 12th, 1951, in New Westminster, B.C, the third child of Rose (Briggs) and Archilles MacKinnon.
Neil departed this world suddenly on January 6, 2021. He is survived by his best friend and wife Colleen, his two loving daughters, Shannon MacKinnon Klitz (Peter Klitz) and Lindsay MacKinnon (Radim Bravenec), Shaun Smith (Amanda Sullivan) and children, grandchildren Dane and Evangeline, sister Gail Arnold (MacKinnon), his brother Bruce MacKinnon (Jennifer), brother Donald MacKinnon (deceased), and many nephews and nieces.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Neil adored his family and loved his work, having built a well-known reputable irrigation service business which he managed and worked in for 40 years. He was recently retired. He always enjoyed fitness and sports. He loved nature and being on the water.
Neil cherished meeting people, learning their stories, and most of all visiting with anyone…he always had a smile, a laugh, (a sarcastic joke), and advice to share.
Neil will be forever missed; we are heartbroken.
We hope to celebrate his life with all his friends and family when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Please hug your family, stay safe and be well.
