Carolyn Grace Watkin

She was a graduate of Reitz High School, Western College for Women, and the University of Evansville with a teaching degree. She taught first grade and was a homemaker raising four children. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, where she belonged to the Bible Study Fellowship. She was an avid knitter and gardener and was also a sports fan.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, John Watkin, in 2001.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Watkin Myers and Rev. Jesse Bryan of TX, Lori Brizius and Scott of Evansville and Gretchen Watkin of St. Louis, MO; son, John Watkin and Susan of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Megan Myers, Jessica Brooks and Grant, Steven Myers, Emma Brizius and fiancée, Eric Fritz, Abby Brizius, Evan Brizius, Alex Brizius and Anna Watkin and fiancée, Jon Roose, Raymond Watkin and Jack Watkin; great-grandchild, Gavin Brooks; and twin sister, Marilyn Funk of Florida.

Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jesse Myers, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
