Funeral mass is under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 10:00 am Saint James Catholic Church in Gonzales, Texas with Father Mike Peinemann officiating. Interment will follow at Saint James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas. Visitation will begin at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday at Buffington Funeral Home.
Franco was born on April 26, 1948 in Villa Juarez SLP, Mexico. He was the son of Samuel and Braulia (Figueroa) Martinez. Franco married Maria Castillo on August 11, 1976 in Villa Juarez SLP, Mexico. He worked as a farm laborer for many years. Franco enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, and watching tv. He liked to visit with friends and drink a few beers.
Franco is survived by his loving wife of 43 years; Maria Martinez, two sons: Alex Martinez and his wife, Maria A. of Gonzales, Texas, Tony Martinez and his wife, Olga of Gonzales, Texas, one daughter; Veronica Martinez and her husband, Antonio Izagurre of Gonzales, Texas, one brother; Seferino Martinez and his wife, Asela of Villa Juarez SLP, Mexico, three sisters: Magdalena Gonzales of Houston, Texas, Agapita Martinez of Monterey, Mexico, Elvia Martinez of Aurora, Illinois, nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Samuel and Braulia Martinez, three brothers; Guadalupe Martinez, Roberto Martinez, Samuel Martinez, and one sister; Eustolia Vera,
Pallbearers for Mr. Martinez will be; Alex Martinez, Tony Martinez, Jesus E. Izaguirre, Cristian Izaguirre, Ray Vera, and Israel Vera.
