Carl Brent Murphy II, 58, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021 due to complications from COVID. He was born in Louisville, KY and after spending his formative years there, relocated to Jacksonville in the early 80s.
Brent is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sherri. He was a proud father of both his adoring children, Morgan and Matthew, and most fulfilled by his life's role as "Boom Boom" to his only grandchild, Jeffrey. He will be sorely missed by numerous nieces, nephews, loyal friends and colleagues. He is also survived by his sisters, Carmel and Shawneen. Brent is predeceased by his parents, Carl and Barbara Murphy.
Family and friends will forever remember Brent as a spiritual, generous, kind, humble, hardworking man of few words, yet of quick wit. Brent loved his family fiercely and was passionate about his profession in construction. His unique and creative carpentry is installed in some of northeast Florida's finest homes. His craftmanship was second to none. Likewise, he loved his Florida State Seminoles and all things boating and fishing.
Due to the limitations of COVID, a private memorial service will be held at Oaklawn Chapel, Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, January 9, 2021.
