Terry "Lee" McCarthy It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Lee McCarthy at Michael Garron Hospital on September 3rd 2021, after a brief illness. Affectionately known as Nanny or Lee, she was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 2nd 1956 to her late parents Mary and Frank Gorse. Predeceased by her sister Lynda McCarthy. She leaves behind her children Jeffrey and Tracy (Jason). granddaughters Shelisa, Jordyn-Lee (Alexander). great grandchildren Emma-Lee, Ryleigh. brothers Frank Gorse (Catherine), Michael McCarthy and soul sister Jackie Lockhart. Some of Lee's proudest moments were buying her car, being present at the births of both her grandchildren and great grandchildren and seeing her granddaughter Jordyn graduate college with honours.
Known for being compassionate, caring, and loving, she spent much of her time in the company of friends and family. She had a calmness and ease about her that others instantly felt that gave them a sense of comfort. Affectionately called Nanny by even many of her granddaughter's friends, she often gave sage advice and was always present when anyone needed a shoulder to lean on.
Lee loved her dogs with all her heart. Bailey and her could always be found snuggling on the couch and sharing a snack. Grunt and Wizer will certainly be waiting to be reunited with her on the Rainbow bridge. On any given day you could easily find Lee listening to country music like Rascal Flatts, as this was one of her favorite bands. She went to see them once in concert after receiving tickets as a gift. She sometimes went to Casino Niagara or Ajax to play the 25 cent slot machines and played bingo with her friends, she always had the most fun when she won. She will be deeply missed by her many friends, family and pets, but none more than her grandchildren whom she meant the world to. The family will continue to sing what Lee sang "You Are My Sunshine" to Ryleigh and Emma-lee in hopes they will never forget the love they shared with their Nanny. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lee's honour to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral details to be added by Jerretts
