John T. Fee, 101, passed peacefully to his heavenly home on January 1, 2021, in the presence of his family, one day after celebrating his 74th wedding anniversary. John was born on September 17, 1919, in Texarkana, Texas, to John T. Fee Sr. and Ophelia Fee. John served in Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal Program CCC camp, followed by service in the Arkansas National Guard, which then became a part of the Army. John served in the 142nd Field Artillery during World War II, taking part in D-Day operations and the Battle of the Bulge. When WWII ended, he was honorably discharged.
On December 31, 1946, he and Lois Skinner were married. In 1949, they moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, to work for Chance Vought Aircraft (later LTV). He worked 32 ½ years in Protective Services. He retired in 1981, where he spent many happy years doing things he loved such as fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, volunteering for the Red Cross, Masonic Scottish Rite Drives, Square Dancing, and much more. He was a Deacon in Fairview Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, serving in many capacities as long as he was able.
He is predeceased by his parents John Fee Sr. and Ophelia Fee; brothers William Fee and Chester Fee; sisters Cordie Ellinburg, Berdie DeLay, Nettie Lee Rilling, and LaTrella Elliott.
