Madame Severina Lutrania Dumanas, was born in Sobol, Asingan, Pangasinan, Philippines on November 6, 1931. After graduating from Binalonan National High School, she went to Orient College and majored in Elementary Education. After college, she taught at many schools which include Mallig-Isabella Elementary School, Calipaan Elementary School, Sumabnit Elementary School, and Anonas Elementary School. She then went on to teach at the bible school, The Way of Salvation, where she met the love of her life, Ceferino Dumanas, Sr. They got married on April 4, 1961.
Severina and her husband moved to Sta. Maria Norte Binalonan, Pangasinan where she taught at Santa Maria Norte Elementary School. She was a 1st and 4th grade teacher. Her husband was a Pastor at the Church of Christ Since Pentecost, which was later renamed Church of the Living God where she was a devout Christian.
Severina was the mother of four children. While being a mother, Severina was a teacher for over 30 years. She would emphasize the importance of education and made it a priority for her children to attend college. Upon retirement from teaching, she came to the United States.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, friends, and loved ones. She was a grandmother of 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Severina loved photography, reading, flower gardening, and watching Filipino television shows and American Soap Operas. She was avid in fashion and in beauty, practicing cosmetology during her college years. Severina would always don a signature red lipstick and nail polish on special occasions and loved to dress-up.
She was frugal, kind, generous, had a strong faith in the Lord, and was very loving. She was a strong influence in the lives of her children and grandchildren and was a true matriarch of the family. She would say, “help one another” and “home is a place for love, sympathy abides amongst the family.”
Severina was preceded in death by her father, Igmidio, her mother, Teresa, her sisters: Genoveva, Eusebia, Leonarda, and Marcela and her brothers Agapito, Carlos, Cesario, Fernando, and Camilo. She is survived by: her sister, Paulina and her brother, Teodoro and her four children, Ceferino Jr. “Jun” and his wife Lourdes, Venus and her husband Rey, Lenny and his wife Bella, Gemma and her husband Larry, and her grandchildren: Princess, Gigi and her husband Abel, Jessamine, John John and his wife Alana, Daimus, Angela, Dairyll and his wife Julia, Sharmie Rose, Daica, Maylen, Joferino, Alexa, Dash, and her great grandchildren, Jarell Xavier and Kurt Lorenzo.
