Derek leaves behind his deepest loves, his children, Gavin Lee Olds, 8 years old, and Aspen Olds, 3 years old, as well as two step-children, Payton Leslie and Summer Leslie. He also leaves behind his father, Dale L. Olds, and his mother, Vickie L. Merino (Olds); and his older brother, Jason E. Anders. Derek’s younger brother, Sean Olds, preceded him in death in September of 2016 at the age of 29. Derek also leaves behind a step-father, Jesse A. Merino; both Paternal Grandmother, Shirley L Olds, and his Maternal Grandmother, Gwendolyn L. Bradbury. He leaves behind an adopted brother Samuel Olds, and two step-sisters, Kelsey Harper, and Sheila Muldoon. Last but not least, Derek left behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many of his cousins that he fought with, played with, and whom he loved whole-heartedly.
Everyone that met Derek knew he was a very passionate person, he loved hard, played hard, and you always knew where he stood on things that he cared about. He was never embarrassed about showing his affection, and would defend his family members without hesitation.
Derek worked for the Carpenter’s Union, and loved doing things with the family. He was an avid lover of dogs, He enjoyed woodworking, working on bikes, his dream car Camero, float trips as well as many other family activities.
Derek never got over the loss of his brother in 2016. We can only imagine the reunion of these two brothers. It must have been the most joyous and the most loudest reunion in heaven that there ever could be.
May he Rest in Peace throughout all eternity, until we meet again, Derek...
In lieu of flowers, it would be most appreciated if donations can be made to cover funeral expenses, and if there is an overage, it will go to establishing a fund for his children.
