After battling cancer, at 63 years of age Alfred was called home to his Lord on the 13th of July, in Abbotsford, BC. He leaves behind his loving wife, Ursula, children, Juliet, Michael and Kevin, mother Ernestine, brothers, Gerhard (Ulla, Phil) and Harold (Vera, Johannes, Oliver), step-sister Herta (Detlef, Klaus, Maik) along with many other relatives and friends. He was born in Germany and came to Canada in 1976. His work brought him and the family to Brandon, Calgary and Abbotsford and Alfred made many friends in all of these cities. Alfred was always quick to tell a joke and was often sought out by family and friends for advice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the BC Cancer Foundation or via the family towards a memorial bench at Mill Lake Park. A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, July 25 at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church (2950 Blue Jay Street, Abbotsford).
