Dorothy Eileen Sayers (Harris), age 77 passed away this morning at 2:15am with her family by her side in ICU at Abbotsford hospital. She is predeceased by her husband (Charles Glen) and eldest son (Craig), and survived by her kids Maureen (Brad), Gregory, Tiffany and grandkids Austin and Alyssa.
Eileen was a beautiful soul, who always showed unconditional love to her children. She was kind to everyone who ever met her, and could always make people laugh with her sense of humor.
She was also one of the strongest women ever. Having been born prematurely, survived several near fatal illnesses and was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension which is a progressive disease affecting the lungs and eventually the organs.
She trained to be a teacher and a nurse. With her husband Charles, they spent the majority of their lives as antique dealers, running several stores and an auction house. She was the bookkeeper, the glue that held the family together, the person that everyone turned to. According to her, her greatest accomplishment was creating a beautiful family.
She always had a dream as a teenager to come to British Columbia from small town in Saskatchewan. Eileen's final wishes were to remain in BC near the mountains she adored.
"
When you return back to nature and become one with Earth. When the rain flows through you, keeping you moving and continuously exploring. When the snow falls upon you keeping you still and humble. When the sun shines brightly above you, nurturing the soil surrounding you and giving new life. We will meet again. Whenever we feel the raindrops falling lightly on our head or when the warm sun shines brightly on our faces. We will feel you in each step we take on the bare ground.
