We met Elly in 1968. Elly and her late husband Alex, became our Landlords. We formed a close relationship and they became “grandparents” to our 2 children. Many happy years went by. Elly liked to tell us about her youth, she grew up in a happy family, which lived in a little Village at the Polish/German border. Her dad owned and operated a Stocking factory, and as Elly got older she liked “tinkering” with the machines, when something did not work. She was also responsible for paying the salaries to the workers.
I think that was one of her most cherished memories.
Her relationship with her dad was very close, also with her mom and her 3 brothers and one sister. Elly and Alex came in the late 1950’s to Vancouver and enjoyed living there. Over the years they made many friends and another very good friend is Renate, who helped Elly faithfully over the years, when she needed it the most.
At the same time, we would like to thank all the staff at Hallmark, for their kind and helpfulness toward Elly, and to me as well, whenever I had concerns, the staff was there to give me a helping hand and for that I am most grateful.
Elly was an easy person to love. Her goodness shone out of her and her strong belief in Jesus made her life a happy one.
We all will miss her very much.
Elly go to Jesus, where your loved ones are waiting.
With happy memories, Ilona and Hans, Rob and Penelope, Renate, and Theo. And ALL the staff from Hallmark on the Park.
