Frances Beverley Barra, age 75, of Oliver, BC, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 24, 1944 in Beaverlodge, Alberta to August and Margaret Weiss and was the youngest of three children.
She married Albert Barra on May 22, 1965 in Grande Prairie, Alberta. It was her dream to have children and such a joy to welcome three into the world. There was a lot of moving around in those early years before settling down in Abbotsford, BC for the next 39 years.
Fran enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved taking pictures on her many travels and seeing new things. Music was a lifelong love and once she and Albert retired they got involved in music “jams” and choirs together. Just over two years ago she and Albert made the big decision to uproot and move to Oliver, BC. They were warmly welcomed into their new community, which made them very happy.
Fran is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Albert; daughters Tracy (Martin) Navratil and Lisa (Dave) Rustulka, five grandchildren; Matthew (Lea Silver) Navratil, Rachael Navratil, Joshua Rustulka, Lauren Rustulka, Madison Rustulka; a sister Evelyn Morrison. Fran was preceded in death by her parents; brother Lenoard and son Mark Barra.
She will be fondly remembered and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 18, 2020 at 4:00 pm at the Cherry Grove Estates Hall.
