AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Hildegard Loewen

24 mai 1932 – 23 mars 2026
Avis de décès de Hildegard Loewen
AUX SOINS DE

Woodlawn Funeral Home

In loving memory of our mother, Hildegard Loewen, who on March 23rd, 2026, at the age of 93, passed from this earth into heaven to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was the wife to Peter Loewen for 63 years before Peter went to be with Jesus in 2018 and loving mother of two daughters and two sons: Waltraud (Hans), Herta, Edward (Blondine) and Reinhard (Sherry). Each child married and blessed Hildegard with 15 grandchildren to hold and from these grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren to hold. She will be missed by the family that remains here, but she has now joined her husband, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that went before her. We will miss our mother, but we rejoice with her knowing she is alive and well with Jesus.

Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was quiet yet determined and faced life’s challenges with God by her side.

Hildegard was born in Filadelfia, Paraguay, May 24, 1932. Hildegard met and later married Peter Loewen on July 9th, 1955. On Oct 3, 1966, they took their family and immigrated to Canada, and eventually settled in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Growing up, Hildegard was always there for us, whether we needed a ride to practise or hungry for some delicious meals or treats she lovingly made for us. She loved to bless us and others from her kitchen. Some highlights from her kitchen we fondly remember are her zwieback, süaromp perishky, applesauce chocolate chip cookies, and Napoleon torte. Hildegard also enjoyed volunteering for MCC and King Rd. Church, putting puzzles together, growing her garden and flowers, and watching a good basketball game on TV. She was a woman of strong faith and instilled in us the importance of God, family, hard work, volunteering in community and doing what was right. Our mother was a role model to look up to.

Mom, you will always be in our hearts and won’t be forgotten. We love you very much and rejoice that you are now praising and worshipping your Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
