

He is survived by his mother, Gail Elizabeth Tuttle, his father, Jeffrey Allan MacBurnie, and his former wife Joylene Wilson MacBurnie. He was predeceased by his stepmother Kathleen Marie MacBurnie.
Ian loved his adopted siblings John, James, Stephen, Robyn and Chris, his precious baby niece Victoria and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He especially cherished his long friendships with Brian Armstrong in Nova Scotia and Imran Khan in British Columbia.
Ian loved sports. He was an avid hockey and baseball fan and played both when he was a teenager. Also as a teenager, Ian was active in Scouts Canada and was a wrestler in his early twenties.
Ian studied theatre in the School of Fine Arts at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, Alberta and Addictions Counselling at Langara College in Vancouver, British Columbia. He devoted many years of selfless service to Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous support groups and sponsees in Vancouver and the British Columbia lower mainland.
Ian’s lifelong compassion and care for others will be his legacy. We will always remember his talent for storytelling and his infectious sense of humour. He was much loved. His passing leaves a great sense of loss.
Cremation has taken place.
