What a beautiful Christmas gift for her, but for us, not so much. Janice was a beloved daughter, sister, auntie and great auntie. She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Grace Delparte. Janice was born September 4, 1952 at Vancouver General Hospital and moved with her family to Abbotsford a few years later. She accepted the Lord Jesus into her heart in the 1980's. She loved Him with all her heart and believed in the power of prayer to heal and help in every situation, often encouraging family and friends.
Janice had a passion for the unloved and especially found joy in her cats and strays over the years. In her younger years she loved to write children's stories and to paint with watercolors Like our parents she thoroughly enjoyed children, adorning them with her love. Janice's greatest pleasure was her family; she loved them with a fervor, routing and praying for them anytime. She especially loved her nieces and nephews, Hana and Nigel Yakishiro (Carly Tower), Samuel Kraus (Colleen), Jordan (Marlee Shimoda) and Carley Shimoda, as well as her newest nephews. Often she would call or facetime with the boys which brought her such delight. Videos and pictures of them she viewed over and over, exclaiming, " They put a smile on my face every time!" She loved hearing the stories of day to day events of the boys and giggled at their little sayings and things they learned. It brought her such delight. She also loved hearing of any family adventures and especially joyed in the details; never bored of hearing of our outings. It was wonderful to share these moments with someone so dear and who cared so much. It was her way of being a part of our lives.
Janice is survived by her loving sisters, Jeanne Delparte, Lynda Shimoda (Wayne Shimoda), and Monica Delparte, her two nieces, three nephews and three great nephews.
