

Predeceased by husband of 43 years, Harry (2019) and first husband Gordon (1972) . She is survived by step-daughters, Marlene Ritchie (Abbotsford), Shelley Banick (Edmonton), Cheryl Quarton (Summerland) five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also her sister, Fran Minishka, twin sister June McLaren and nieces and nephews all of Winnipeg, Man.
May was born May 4, 1932 in St. Boniface, Man. She was very active in sports as a young woman, playing basketball, volleyball and softball . She worked for Canadian National Railways as a claim agent for over 33 years both in Winnipeg and Edmonton. In 1988 May and Harry built a log retirement home in Summerland where May enjoyed playing tennis and out in the sailboat with Harry.
May enjoyed travelling as a single woman to Greece and Barbados and then many trips to Europe with Harry, later spending winters in Mexico and Palm Springs.
A Celebration will be held in Summerland at a later date and interment will be in Edmonton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mayfair in Abbotsford for their excellent care of May over the last four years and a special thanks to Liz & Martin, Erik & Angela for always keeping a close eye on her in Summerland.
